Carole draws and stitches from her Studio in the Cotswolds, surrounded by her beloved woodlands and open farmland. Her art speaks of movement and a love of landscape and wildlife. She is willingly moulded by a loving God and their song will assuredly resonate with joy.
‘The repetitive motif in these bird drawings and paper textiles eliminate all but the most essential elements of passage and tranquillity. Even colour has been abandoned in favour of texture and line.
The wonder of flight and migration is my inspiration.
Traditional embroidery techniques are worked and pushed to their extremes in order for them to include drawings and paper.’
Carole is a contemporary textile artist who combines drawing and stitch in her work.
Following a degree in Fine Art Embroidery at Manchester, she has exhibited for many years, including venues in the UK and Australasia. In February 2015 she will be returning as artist in residence at Nature in Art in Gloucester, and enjoyed demonstrating with them at Art in Action in 2014. Her work has recently featured for a second year in the RWA Annual Open Exhibition, Bristol. Carole’s work will be part of the ‘Art in Mind’ exhibition in The Brick Lane Gallery – The Annexe, London, in January 2015.
